One year (and a bit) on at the stone house build in Datca

Hello! its been a while since I posted,  January in fact which I know is not very good, so I have to start with an apology!  However I think you'll see a huge difference in the house build, or at least I hope so !

We visited the house in May 2011, and were delighted with the work so far......then the tourist season kicked in and things came to a bit of a halt.   We are so very close and hoped that we could stay in the house on our next visit to Datca in July 2011.  They say the best things come to those who wait....... We hope to have the work completed by the middle of August... keep your fingers crossed we are!

Here are the latest pictures of the house, taken earlier this month. If only we could stay in Datca to oversee the work, then it could be finished very quickly, but its all got to be paid for and I need to work to pay for it!

So, what work has been done since our last visit:

  • Bathrooms/wetrooms (walls and floors) have been tiled with Travertine
  • Bedroom floors have been tiled with Travertine
  • Window frames have been fitted - all handmade by local carpenter
  • Roof terrace has been finished and tiled with ceramic tiles
  • Around the perimeter of the house has been tiled with ceramic tiles
  • All of the wiring and cables have been laid and first fixed
  • All of the plumbing has been first fixed
  • Doors have been made, and are at the carpenter shop ready to be hung
  • Wooden floors in the living room and kitchen upstairs are being laid
  • Wooden bespoke internal staircase is being fitted - looks amazing too!
  • Entrance driveway has been opened in the garden wall to allow for a car to pass and park
  • The garden terracing has been completed
  • The inside walls (where specified) have been plastered

And these are a few of things we have already purchased, ready for moving in:

  • Fridge / Freezer (stainless steel)
  • Washing Machine
  • Cooker (stainless steel)
  • Oven (stainless steel)
  • Extractor (stainless steel)
  • Water Heater
